Great Britain racer Robert Lambert took an important step towards securing his Speedway GP spot for 2027 after booking his place in the FIM SGP Challenge.
Lambert won the qualifier at Slovak circuit Zarnovica on Saturday, topping the score chart on 14 points to advance to the FIM SGP Challenge at former FIM Italian Speedway GP venue Terenzano on July 25. The top four riders there earn Speedway GP qualification for next season.
He is joined in Italy by Aussie racer Jaimon Lidsey, who finished second on 13 points, with Latvian ace Andzejs Lebedevs winning a run-off for third with Speedway GP title contender Kacper Woryna after they tied on 12.
The final qualification place was won by Denmark’s Michael Jepsen Jensen, who scored 10 points, before winning a run-off with Czech teenage sensation Adam Bubba Bednar, who matched that tally.
Slovakia’s former world No.3 Martin Vaculik missed out on eight points along with French international David Bellego.
